Around XII Quilt Show
It is time to begin thinking of the Hands Across The Valley quilt
show which will be held on Saturday, March 21st and Sunday March 22nd 2009. Once again,
the show will be held at Amherst College campus in LeFrak Gymnasium and the Cage in
Amherst, MA.
We expect to have 400+ quilts and in addition to some old favorites, we will
have a variety of new events and features for this show. We will be adding
information about each of the events to this page of the website and will post any
entry forms required for them as they become available.

SHOW EVENTS
The 2009 Raffle Quilt--This quilt has
been made by the guild members. Raffle tickets are $1.00 per ticket or a booklet of
6 for $5.00.
Mini-Quilt Auction --A live mini-quilt
auction will be held both Saturday and Sunday. We will post preview pictures of the quilts as we receive them.
Show Us Your
Bags!--A silent auction of "Bags." Everyone attending will be able to
bid on these purses,clutches,satchels and handbags. The winners will be announced
at the end of the show on Sunday. You can bid as many times as you would like in
order to be able to purchase the "Bag" of your choice.
Old Deerfield Sixth Biennial Quilt
Challenge.--The exhibit will be judged and awarded prizes.
Featured Quilters--Three quilters from
the guild will be “featured” with their work and will be able to answer your
questions regarding their accomplishments.
The 2011 Raffle Quilt--The quilt for
2011 will be showcased at the 2009 show.
Demonstrations--There will be a booth
showing how to accomplish some of the new and old techniques of quilting, along with
samples.
Children's Corner--Fabric crafts and activities for kids all ages. Kids can make their own patchwork tote bags for a nominal fee. An adult must be present with the child in this area.
Vendors--We will have over 20 vendors
displaying their wares.
Snacks--A coffee/snack vendor will be
available throughout the entire two days.
Transportation and Parking
Quilt Appraisal--We will have a quilt appraiser available. A written appraisal is $40 for the first quilt; $35 for each addtional quilt. A verbal appraisal is $18 for each quilt.
